Customers are changing… The society is changing.. Most companies are… lacking behind..
They don’t really innovate.. Stick to their current product or services and or don’t know how to step out their comfort zone. And this is really killing!
Ask yourself the following questions:
- How do you keep a potential customer engaged through the entire sales process that may last months or years?
- How do you keep a present customer engaged enough to look for you when they are looking to buy again?
Effective customer engagement helps you keep your customers attention and attract the eyes of new ones as well and most important it will grow your business. Also a funny remark: the word Customer Engagement can be literally translated as: engaging with your customers. Just always keep that in mind, make your product or service the best and most attractive one, so your customers don’t want to leave:) I’m going to help you with that.
So how do you keep your customers engaged?
- Develop Emotional Connections with your customers and build a community, online and offline.
- Start a loyalty program
- WOW customers: create WOW customer experiences that completely springs out of it. It’s time to let your company be the story of the day, or maybe weeks.
- Make your customers a part of your team and involve with charity
- Offer a surprise update/bonus: The element of surprise is a very powerful thing. Thank customers with a free, spontaneous upgrade or bonus. Or offer this to your most loyal customers, sometimes the loyal customers are the ones that companies forget. It’s finally all about delighted customers that spread the word.
- Throw a party, Picnic, BBQ or teach children how to code! Sponsor activities that encourage interaction and, most importantly, fun! And please don’t forget to make pictures and/or Vlogs.
- Send your customer a personalized card by post and if possible with a small gift. Yes you’re reading it correctly, send it by post. Nowadays this will stand out, because it isn’t that normal anymore, since we gone all mobile.
- Hold in store events: give frequent customers that VIP feeling with an invitation-only after-hours event in your store or a special location. Let them shop with additional discount or get a sneak preview of the latest product and don’t forget to ask for their feedback. What can you improve, keep listening and never stop learning.
- Give them rope: Once you have trained the people that work for you, trust them to love customers as you would. Give them the authority to make decisions and take ownership of their job and the customer experience.
This perfect quote summarize it all:)
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
–John F. Kennedy
